As per an update provided by NDTV, Actor Vishal's Nomination For RK Nagar By-Poll Rejected, Then Accepted
The reason stated is after the actor released a phone recording this evening suggesting that his proposers had been threatened, his nomination was finally accepted.
These were the tweets of the actor post to the update:
"After much struggle, my nomination for the RK Nagar election is finally accepted.... Truth Always Triumphs !! #JusticeServed #DemocracyPrevails" the actor tweeted.
The Election Commission (EC) today, (5th Dec 2017) evening rejected actor Vishal's ( and also) Jayalalithaa's niece Deepa Jayakumar's nomination papers for the upcoming RK Nagar byelection.
Actor Vishal, who announced his entry into politics on Saturday with many fanfares, filed his nomination papers for the RK Nagar bypoll on Monday. The actor, who is also the general secretary of the Nadigar Sangam, made an eleventh-hour cinematic entry into the election office with his supporters at 2.20 pm and had to be taken to a private waiting room, with fans further delaying the proceedings.
Reports appearing in the press cite the reason for rejection of his nomination that there were discrepancies in the details of what is contained in is nomination papers and that of the electoral list. Further details are awaited.
Deepa's nomination was reportedly turned down owing to certain 'discrepancies' in the form containing her oath.
